Last Thursday Britt Leis and Lia Koehn were walking on the Playa Las Manchas, Ecuador. They were attacked and Britt was stabbed at least 18 times. A lot has happened since Thursday and Britt is in serious condition and Loma Linda hospital in California.

Years ago my husband and I spent a year in Central and South America including Ecuador. We are saddened and shocked to hear of this story and will be thinking of both of you as you recover.

This is a terrible tragedy and my thoughts are with both Britt and Lia. I’m wondering, however, if this is the same Britt Leis that went to school in Baumholder, Germany? If so there are many teachers still there that would want to know. If there is a way to let me know I would appreciate it.
